Shinobu Distillery is located in Niigata, Japan, a region renowned for its abundant "water sources," "white rice," and "sake." Niigata is famous for its heavy snowfall in winter, as cold air masses from the continent sweep across the Sea of Japan, bringing moisture that accumulates as thick snow in the mountains. When summer arrives, the snow melts, flowing into rivers and ultimately becoming the pure water source that nurtures the fertile soils of Niigata. This naturally pure and sweet water, combined with the region’s rich resources, creates an ideal environment for a whisky distillery.

This whisky is aged for over 15 years in Sherry and Bourbon Casks, allowing complex flavors to develop, and is then meticulously finished in Japanese Mizunara oak barrels for an additional 6 months.
